Meg

'I wonder what stories these trees could tell us if they could talk, surely many as they have lived for so long and seen so much.' 'Do you think a city tree would have better stories than a tree out in the country?' 'I think it would have more but the tree in the country would have better ones, it'd be more perceptive as movement is not as common, it would be better at story telling, and that's what it's about.'

This is just a little of what I remember from a conversation I had with Meg whilst exploring. We found a walking track alongside a river lined with purple flowers and footed with irregular stones. It was quiet, not just because we were the only ones there, but because the sound of the river dulled all other noise. I thought more than I spoke, something almost rare with people I know as well as I do Meg. The banks were lush and the river was over it's limit, submerging the flora which was endemically Australian. Tall gums, with a smell of Ecalypt mixed with that of the rain just fallen.

It was nice to find a place so desolate, yet beautiful. It's like it was something waiting to be found, yet the coordinates were never given. A present that hadn't yet reached its destination and we were the lucky kids to   enjoy it on its way through. But nature is a present that never gets old. Enjoy it, seek it, feel it.
